What is The Ocean Straw?
The Ocean Straw is a solution to the global plastic pollution problem.
It is a sustainable reusable drinking straw designed to reduce plastic waste and protect our oceans. Made in Spain from an innovative wood and plant-based material from Finland, it is the perfect choice for environmentally conscious people who want to enjoy their drinks without compromising on quality, all while making a positive impact on the planet.
Why is it better than conventional plastic or paper straws?
Because it is reusable and cost-effective: It can be washed in the dishwasher up to 10 times (at 60°C), making each Ocean Straw worth 10 disposable straws. This not only contributes to cost savings but, more importantly, reduces waste generation.
Because it is strong and durable: Suitable for all types of beverages, it is resistant enough to withstand regular use without bending or breaking. Unlike paper straws which lose their strength after 30 minutes in liquids, The Ocean Straw can be used for up to 24h without getting soggy (at temp. up to 40°C).
Last but not least, because it is safe for both people and the planet: Free from harmful substances (no glue, no coating, no PFAs) and common food allergens, it offers the convenience and functionality of conventional plastic straws without the environmental risks. It biodegrades into CO2, water, and biomass, leaving no permanent microplastics or toxic residues behind. Additionally, it helps maintain balance in the carbon cycle, as the CO2 released during biodegradation is absorbed by plants and trees through photosynthesis.
